In what appears to be a ploy for product placement on the wildly popular Guitar Hero and Rock Band, Carlos Santana and industry legend Clive Davis have joined forces again to present Guitar Heaven (in stores now). Mr. Supernatural covers 12 classic songs done by "the da Vincis of our time, legends of the guitar: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison." In true Santana fashion, he incorporates a bevy of new-school talent to make the material seem fresh. Check out the first single/video below (George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps") featuring India.Arie and master cellist Yo-Yo Ma. It's actually pretty good!

Back in May 2009, Santana became the first act to hold a residency at the spectacular, newly-expanded Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits is a musical retrospective running for 72 performances over 2009-2010.
